All of the copper roofs to the buildings are now almost finished as the final and largest roof to the exhibition building is nearing completion. With the external walls that have been constructed over the last few weeks, the space is beginning to take shape and the incredible backdrop to the museum collection is in full focus.
Internally, partitions are being erected forming spaces within the buildings such as the learning centre. The internal walls to the workshop building are also being constructed, lined with timber to create a beautiful as well as functional space to conserve the historic boats.
Underfloor heating and the final floor have been laid in the café. The underfloor heating will draw energy from the lake itself via a water source heat pump providing sustainable heating for the whole building, a fantastic use of the lake right on the door step.
