All efforts continue to construct the walls and roofs of the new museum buildings making the most of the mild autumn weather. Following on the from the café, work to the learning centre roof is well underway and the external partition walls are under construction. The roof the reception and shop area is also under construction following the sequence around the buildings.
The central structure to the boathouse roof is now complete and all the timbers that will be visible from below are in place. The roof will continue to be built up followed by the final material and rooflight installation.
The new slipway is now under construction. This facility is completely new to the Museum and will enable the boats to be easily taken in and out of the water, essential to support the ongoing conservation and maintenance of the boats in the water. The timber piles for the jetty that runs alongside it have been installed and work to the concrete slipway itself has now started.
