Last month a key milestone was reached with the Windermere Jetty buildings being connected to mains water and electricity. This has made way for the commencement of significant developments to the internal fit out of the buildings during September.
The internal finishes will now be installed, including the Douglas fir cladding in the reception area and lakeside cafe. Lighting will also be fitted and tested in many of the areas, making the spaces feel more fit for purpose. Within the wet dock, the full height scaffolding will be dismantled allowing for the vast scale of the room to be appreciated, and the boathouse walkways to be constructed.
Significant milestones in Conservation will also be achieved during September. Osprey will have her engine installed and connected to the steering, and her boiler will be fitted in readiness for the test launch which will take place in the coming weeks. Jane will also near completion. Final coats of varnish and paintwork will be applied and her chrome fixtures will be re-fitted, restoring Jane to her original beauty.
